WhatsApp is working on a number of new features such as new voice call UI and emojis, that are expected to arrive in the app soon. Here are the top features that you should look out for.
1:-
Search Message Shortcut
WhatsApp is working on a new feature called Search Message Shortcut for its Android app that will enable users to look for a specific message within a chat by going to a user’s profile. It is available to some Android beta testers starting today and the company is also working on bringing the same for its iOS based app.
2:-
Message Reactions
WhatsApp has been working on bringing Instagram-like Message Reactions to its platform for a long time. Now, WABetaInfo has confirmed that the messaging app is also developing a similar functionality for its desktop-based app as well. Users can react to a message by choosing from six different emojis.
3:-
Camera Media Bar
WhatsApp in a previous update had removed the scrollable media bar that enabled users to pick videos and images that they wanted to share with a user quickly. Now, a new report says that the company is planning to restore this scrollable media bar in its camera functionality again. This change is available to users who are using the latest version of WhatsApp’s iOS beta app
4:-
Emoji Shortcuts
WhatsApp is bringing a new feature to its Universal Windows Platform-based app that gives users quick access to emojis. When users type specific keywords prefixed with a colon, WhatsApp will show all the emojis related to that keyword. This feature can be accessed by downloading the latest beta version of WhatsApp from the Microsoft Store.
5:-
New Voice Calls UI
WhatsApp is also working on a new user interface for voice calls on its platform. The new UI makes the interface of the app while on a group call look similar to the one on a simple voice call. The redesigned UI also shows voice waveform when each user speaks along with a special wallpaper in the background. It is available for beta testers of its iOS app only.
