Petrol, diesel prices today: Check latest fuel rates in your city
New Delhi: Petrol and diesel prices remained unchanged on Monday as oil marketing companies announced no revision in the fuel prices. State-run OMCs like Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) update the fuel prices at 6 am daily in line with international benchmark prices.
With no change in fuel prices even on Monday, November 14, petrol and diesel prices have remained steady across major metro cities Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Bengaluru for over 170 days now.
Latest petrol, diesel prices in metro cities
According to the latest price update, in Delhi, petrol costs Rs 96.72 per litre and diesel is sold at Rs 89.62 per litre. In Mumbai, people have to pay Rs 106.31 for a litre of petrol and Rs 94.27 for diesel. Per litre petrol price in Kolkata is Rs 106.03 while that of diesel is Rs 92.76 per litre. In Chennai, petrol and diesel are priced at Rs 102.63 and Rs 94.24 per litre respectively.
Petrol price in India’s Silicon Valley Bengaluru is Rs 101.94 a litre while that of diesel is Rs 87.89. In Uttar Pradesh’s capital city Lucknow, petrol costs Rs 96.62 per litre while diesel costs Rs 89.81 per litre. On the other hand, residents of Rajasthan’s Sriganganagar are still paying the highest fuel prices in India priced at Rs 113.49 a litre and diesel Rs 98.24 per litre.
Petrol, diesel prices have remained steady since May. The fuel price freeze has caused massive losses to state-owned oil marketing companies. India’s top three state-run oil refiner retailers Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum (BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum (HPCL) together reported a second consecutive quarterly loss totalling Rs 2,748.66 crore in July-September.
