New Delhi: State-run oil marketing companies announced no revision in the prices of petrol and diesel on Saturday, November 4. There has been no change in fuel prices for over five months now. Fuel prices have remained unchanged unchanged since late May this year, when finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced a cut in excise duties on petrol and diesel by Rs 8 per litre and Rs 6 per litre respectively.
In Delhi, petrol continues to retail at Rs 96.72 per litre while diesel costs Rs 89.62 per litre. A litre of petrol costs Rs 106.31 and one litre of diesel Rs 97.28 in Mumbai. People in Kolkata will have to pay Rs 102.63 for a litre of petrol while Rs 92.76 for a litre of diesel. In Chennai, diesel costs Rs 94.24 per litre and petrol Rs 102.63 today. Petrol price in Bengaluru is Rs 101.94 per litre while diesel is priced at Rs 87.89.
Residents of Sriganganagar in Rajasthan continue to pay the highest fuel prices in India priced at Rs 113.49 a litre and diesel Rs 98.24 per litre.
OMCs like Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) update the fuel prices daily in line with international benchmark prices and foreign exchange rates.
