WATCH: Rizwan hilariously asks Steve Smith if Pakistan should take the DRS against him

He was seen extending his arms towards Shaheen Shah Afridi, the Qalandars skipper, quite a few times with a broad smile on his face. The wicketkeeper showed a bit of his humorous nature during Pakistan’s second Test against Pat Cummins’ Aussies at the National Stadium in Karachi. The hosts were once in a dilemma whether or not to use the DRS against a well-set Steve Smith.

The timer was running out as Rizwan discussed with bowler Nauman Ali and his teammates about sending the decision upstairs. Thereafter, Rizwan went up and put his arms around Smith, asking him if Pakistan should opt for the DRS. Smith was batting on 54 at that point in time in the 71st over of the day’s play. In the end, the hosts didn’t go for the DRS.

Here’s the hilarious video involving Mohammad Rizwan and Steve Smith

Smith had a decent day in the office as he scored 72 runs off 214 balls with the help of seven fours. Just when he looked set to end the day unbeaten, Hasan Ali accounted for his wicket. In the penultimate over of the day’s play, Smith went for a backfoot cover drive off a length delivery from the pacer. But the right-hander found a thick outside edge.

The ball dipped on its way to the slip cordon, but Faheem Ashraf took a sharp one-handed catch at second slip. The Pakistan team was elated as it was a crucial wicket of them. After opting to bat first, Australia went to stumps on Day one at 251 for three.

Usman Khawaja was the star of the show as he stayed not out on 127 with 13 fours and a six. Nathan Lyon played six balls as a night-watchman. Marnus Labuschagne failed to open his account after being run out.
