Ravindra Jadeja to miss second Test against Sri Lanka – Here is what Jasprit Bumrah said

Ravindra Jadeja was India’s best player in the first Test against Sri Lanka. He was named the Man of the Match for his all-round performance.

The right-handed batter scored an unbeaten 175 runs in the first innings while he took 9 wickets in the game to lead India to an emphatic win by an innings and 222 runs.

He just returned from a long injury layoff, and with IPL 2022 and the busy international season ahead, the team management is working on managing the players’ workload.

When vice-captain Jasprit Bumrah was asked about Jadeja being rested from the pink-ball Test in Bengaluru, he said – “I don’t think Ravindra Jadeja would want to rest after such a good performance. He is on a high and would want to replicate it.”

Bumrah also shed light on the addition of Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav’s removal from the squad ahead of the final Test against the visitors.

“Axar Patel just adds a lot of value to the side with the bat and ball. He was injured, so he wasn’t a part; now he is back after recovering.

“See, we have not removed him (Kuldeep Yadav) from the team. He has been in the bubble for a long time, and hence he has been released. Staying in a bubble is not easy. The mental aspect is important,” he added.
